Once upon a time, there was a farmer and his wife who owned a very special goose. Every day, the goose would lay one golden egg. The farmer and his wife were overjoyed with their good fortune. They knew that each golden egg was worth a lot of money, and soon, they were quite wealthy.

But after a while, the farmer and his wife became impatient. "Why should we wait every day for just one egg?" they wondered. "If the goose can lay golden eggs, she must be full of gold inside! What if we could have all the gold at once?"

So, they made a plan. Instead of waiting patiently for the goose to lay her golden egg each day, they decided to cut her open and take all the gold inside at once. They were sure this would make them very rich.

The next morning, instead of waiting for the golden egg, they took the goose and gently cut her open. But to their shock and disappointment, there was no gold inside. The goose was just like any other goose! By killing her, they had lost their special goose forever, and with it, their daily golden egg.

The farmer and his wife were left with nothing. They realized too late that their impatience had cost them everything. If only they had been patient and continued to care for the goose, they could have enjoyed her golden eggs every day.

Sometimes, good things come slowly, and we must be patient to enjoy them fully. Rushing for more can make us lose everything we had in the first place.
